Spaz
Offers His Thoughts On Some Night Clubs
Check
back often.... because he changes his mind...
A Lot!
Jenkinsons
This is our Jersey shore home-base.
It’s right on the beach, so bring your
surf-board. If you want it all- Nerds, rockin
the floorboards loose and then dance-house music
during the breaks, and all the people that go
all of that, this is the place to be. It’s
a free for all. From college kids to retired
bankers, pick up and be picked up. They’ve
got the best pizza, a great staff and excellent
sound and lights. If you’re going on a
Saturday, get there early or else leave your
car on the Parkway.
Joe
Pop's
What can I say, Joe Pops defines
the LBI club. Casual, shorts and 10 year old
tee shirt kinda place. Party with a crowd that’s
been there all week and are all walking back
home to their rental homes. It’s always
a great time and nobody tries to kill you if
you get a little exuberant.
Mulcahy's
This is our Long Island showplace.
And a showplace it is. It’s the biggest
Irish pub on the planet. Concert stage sound
and lighting, a DJ that plays a little of everything
(always a plus) and about 1200 of our most loyal
fans on any given weekend. They’ve got
an outdoor patio for the evil smokers, and even
a running game of Beer Pong. Bring your own
paddle and rain coat, I guess.
Black
Bear
I love this place. Connecticut
clubs have always been great for us and this
is no exception. It’s got a great local
hang-out feel, with triple the square footage.
They dance on the bar, they dance on the chairs,
they say One guy even danced on the ceiling
in the eighties, but I don’t believe that
for a second. I’m not stupid. If you’re
near South Norwalk, this is the place to go
for fun.
The
Osprey
This is a place you have to experience.
Enjoying a renaissance of sorts, the osprey
has finally taken the BonJovi and Madonna posters
off the back wall and remodeled the place after
4 hundred years. It’s probably the rockingest
place on the Jersey shore with a separate dance-room
(there Is a God) for those of us that need that
kind of thing. This is a great place to see
us and then crawl off to any of the hundreds
of porch parties going on in Manasquan. The
Indians had the right idea when they put up
all those bungalows on the shore line. It’s
a very free-spirited place with the bouncers
keeping a close watch on the slightest hint
of debauchery, so not to worry. There is no
terror threat at the Osprey. It is clearly one
of our favorites.
Colorado
Café
I love this place. It’s
a square mile wide, kinda like Hoboken with
a mechanical bull. This place is a cowboy bar
all week and a rock shrine on the weekends.
It’s got something for everybody- line
dancing, bar-b-que all night, a rock DJ and
the biggest dancefloor this side of Houston.
And the people are smarter, too. Lots of room,
lots of parking, lots of Jersey cowboys and
cowgirls, a mechanical bull (I wasn’t
kidding), just a great time. The staff is great,
and the food is cooked. Don’t let the
country feel throw you like a mechanical bull
though, this place rocks more than Donnie and
Marie.
